So all you Shula haters finally got what you wanted, but at what price? I was just as disappointed about this season as any other Tide fan but where's the damn loyalty. How many other schools across the country would turn their back on one of their own like this, a guy who happened to be a very successful QB and who holds his own little place within the great Alabama football tradition.
I just don't get it. I swear if they would have just given the guy a couple of more years to get the program turned around he would have done so. Forget that though, in today's "I want it now", impatient society everyone wants a quick fix, a quick high to make all the pain go away and this is just another sad example of that. This "quick fix" may feel good to all of the Shula haters out there right now, but what about in a month or so when the recruits start turning their backs on the University, or a year or so from now when we're struggling through another season and losing another one to thumb boy over at the cow college.
So congratulations Tide fans, you've got what you wanted. Now what? Now we wait around while we hear rumors of all the big name coaches turning down an offer to come to a school with the greatest football tradition in the land. Why would they turn down such a prestigious job in college football? Let me ask you a question, why the hell would they want to come here where a trait like loyalty is a rare as wins against Auburn in the last five years.

I think it was time for him to go, but I didn't like they way they went about firing him.
Mal Moore needs to fire himself. Does he actually think a big name like Spurrier is going to come to Bama. Highly unlikely
The University of Alabama needs to ensure that the present and the future have as much potential for victory and obtaining championships as they have had in the past. Mike Shula is a fine man but he was too passive and dispassionate to be a coach at this level or at this university. The legacy of the Crimson Tide must endure, and it is bigger than any one man. Stop crying for Shula and support the Crimson Tide. Shula no longer represents us. Live in the now!
connie has amesia fellas. Shula was to passive this yea, but won 10 games last year. Wow, poor girl needs to get int he hospital.
