A Good Argument For Why Moore Needs To Resign
A journalist all the way out in Paris, Texas has pretty much summed up the whole situation at UA as well as suggest the first step to finding a solution. If you care about our football program you should take the time to read this insightful article. Read "Changes at UA Must Be Made", by Tyler Clifton

You are absolutely right. I read this article before you posted it here, and I agree with the author whole heartedly. You will not accomplish anything as long as you have the deadwood a.k.a. Mal Morre hanging around the capstone.
ROLL TIDE CHRISTMAS
T’was the end of the ’06 football season
Things weren’t right. What was the reason?
Six losses and Mike Shula had been fired
Tide Fans wondered when a coach would be hired.
The ‘Bama nation couldn’t sleep as they lay in their beds
While visions of National Championships danced in their heads
The team with Kines their interim leader in tow
Were headed to Shreveport for the Independence Bowl
All across the nation the alarm had sounded
‘Bama needed a head coach and one that was well rounded
To the internet I surfed in a flash
Looking at posts, blogs, and all the other hash
Ohio State and Florida were going to the BCS Bowl
While the Tide was unranked and feeling pretty low
When what to my wondering eyes did I see?
As I left my computer and turned on my TV
A gray headed man at a podium standing tall
He was holding a press conference for one and all
Hoping he would get to the situations core
I knew in a moment it must be Mal Moore
In a southern drawl the coaches he did name
My hope was the mention of one of winning fame
On Saban, Spurrier, Johnson, Grobe & Stoops
Now Petrino, Chow, Fisher; and Rodriguez?...OOOPS!
To the very top of the polls, we want it all
Back to the glory days of Frank, Gene & Paul
Board members, boosters, trustees & alum did fly
Searching the entire country as they took to the sky
In their private planes and jets they all flew
With plenty of money and Mal Moore too
Then this whole thing begin to look like a spoof
As no answers were found and Moore became aloof
As I turned off my TV and was turning around
I became sleepy and decided to lie down
Falling fast asleep on that night
I dreamt of a man in Crimson & White
He was broad at the shoulders and wore a hounds tooth hat
He paced up and down the sidelines and never sat
His face was weathered and his eyes they were stern
His facial expression was one of concern
He called out some plays in a voice quite gruff
I knew he had a big heart even though he was tough
His will to win was amazing by far
As he mentioned Namath, Stabler, Musso & Starr
A gleam in his eye and a quick turn of his head
I realized it was the Bear, but wasn’t he dead?
He spoke no more and went back to work
Distributing trophies and honors, then turned with a jerk
And as he laid a finger aside of his nose
Ascending to his tower, I looked on as he arose
He sprang to the blocking sled, to his team blew the whistle
And quietly disappeared like the down of a thistle
But I heard him shout as he was gone from my sight
Roll Tide Roll, and to all a good night
Sources in Miami are filing this bizarre report. For those who want a new athletic director and who also wanted to keep Mike Shula, you might get your wish.
Here is what is currently going on. Nick Saban has become close friends with Don Shula the former Miami Dolphins head coach. Of course Don is not real happy in the way that the U of A let the favorite son go. Current talks are bypassing Mal Moore and going directly through President Dr. Witt. Saban may agree to come to Alabama provided changes are made in the chain of command. First the aging gray haired 67 year old Moore must step down as athletic director. Secondly, Mike Shula be placed back on staff, either as an offensive coordinator, (where by the way he would not be calling the plays). However, it may be asked that Shula take the place of Mal Moore the man who fired him.
Under those terms will Saban consider the job at Alabama. Hopefully this will come to fruition, as worked out by Dr. Witt and his staff.
Nick Saban’s a scoundrel, whether he leaves the Miami Dolphins for Alabama or not. He left Michigan State hanging and LSU in much the same way (swearing he wasn’t leaving when it was clear that he was), but at least he left both of those places on a winning note. His professional coaching tail will be between his legs if he runs from South Beach after a 6-10 season. The Crimson Tide and Saban seem to deserve each other.
