This might actually be funny if this guy wasn't such a tool.

Spurrier
Is there anyone else out there in Bamaland who doesn't want to see this guy on our sidelines? Call me crazy, but I would rather see just about anyone other than Spurrier as our coach. If he did become the head coach, he would no doubt do it for one simple reason - $Money$. I guess I'm a little old fashion in that I would like our future coach to be someone who is loyal to the Alabama football program and not just chasing a higher paycheck.
Here's a little sample of what we can expect to see on the sidelines if "The Old Ball Coach" does grace us with his supremacy.

Fat Chance
"We will immediately begin a national search for a new head football coach. I am seeking a proven head coach with a proven record of achievement who can reach the level of excellence that all of us desire."
Someone please tell me who the hell they think they're going to get with a "proven record of achievement" and what does that really mean anyway. Hell, Terry Bowden has a "proven record of achievement", but he couldn't get hired by a high school team at this point.
I just keep thinking we should have given Shula at least one more year with J.P. at QB with a good solid year of experience under his belt. What really did we have to lose anyway other than the $4 million we're losing in buying out his contract. Think of the things that could have been built with that money.
I'm sure every coach in America is just dying to come down to T-town and get in this perpetual mess. How about a little f-ing stability to try and build our program back to where it's supposed to be.
Does anyone think the coach who does end up getting the job is just going to come in and have some kind of miraculous season and satisfy all the fickle fans out there. Right, and I have a couple of tickets to next year's national championship game.

Videos That Tell the Sad Story
Part of the reason Shula was fired is assholes like the guy who made this video and the pressure that was put on Moore and Co. to make a change. That pretentious prick Finebaum holds some of the blame as well. That arrogant ass wouldn't be happy if the Bear himself descended from heaven on a white horse and rode back into T-town to take over the coaching job. Finebaum's the classic example of the critic on the sideline never experiencing triumph or defeat.
Shula's Out and Bama's Image Is Tarnished Once Again
So all you Shula haters finally got what you wanted, but at what price? I was just as disappointed about this season as any other Tide fan but where's the damn loyalty. How many other schools across the country would turn their back on one of their own like this, a guy who happened to be a very successful QB and who holds his own little place within the great Alabama football tradition.
I just don't get it. I swear if they would have just given the guy a couple of more years to get the program turned around he would have done so. Forget that though, in today's "I want it now", impatient society everyone wants a quick fix, a quick high to make all the pain go away and this is just another sad example of that. This "quick fix" may feel good to all of the Shula haters out there right now, but what about in a month or so when the recruits start turning their backs on the University, or a year or so from now when we're struggling through another season and losing another one to thumb boy over at the cow college.
So congratulations Tide fans, you've got what you wanted. Now what? Now we wait around while we hear rumors of all the big name coaches turning down an offer to come to a school with the greatest football tradition in the land. Why would they turn down such a prestigious job in college football? Let me ask you a question, why the hell would they want to come here where a trait like loyalty is a rare as wins against Auburn in the last five years.
